Sassi Salloubi (°1960) was an Algerian terrorist who was long affiliated with the Base Organization in the Islamic Maghreb [AQIM; Tanzim al-Qa’ida fi-Bilad al-Maghreb al-Islami]. He fought in Algeria, before being assigned to the Tunisian-based Brigade of Uqba Bin Nafa’a [KUIN; Katibat Uqba Ibn Nafaâ] in 2014.1 Salloubi rose through the ranks to become the group’s treasurer.2 He also assumed responsibility for the KUIN’s logistical operations. Tunisian security forces eliminated him along with the leader of the group and three fighters during an operation on May 17, 2021.3
