Montasser Ghozlani (°ca 1987) was a Tunisian jihadi and former key operative of the Soldiers of the Caliphate in Tunisia [JaKI; Jund al-Khilafa fi-Ifriqiya]. He reportedly joined the group at the time of its formation in 2014 or shortly afterwards.1 Ghozlani took part in many of the JaKI’s attacks on Mount Mghila and its surroundings. Over the years, he was notoriously involved in the killing of a distant family member who served in the army and the beheadings of two shepherds.2 Ghozlani was also accused of having planted landmines on the mountain.3 He furthermore collected funds for the JaKI through bank robberies.4

Ghozlani was a close associate of key JaKI operatives Hatem and Mohammed Basdouri. He joined the brothers as they tried to operate independently from the outfit.5 Ghozlani and the Basdouris were eliminated when police forces raided their hideout near Sidi Ali Ben Aoun on May 04, 2019.6
