Mohammed Ferchichi (°ca 1974) was a jihadi from Tunisia’s Jendouba governorate. He had long been involved in crime and served several stints in prison before he joined the Brigade of Uqba Bin Nafa’a [KUIN; Katibat Uqba Ibn Nafaâ] in 2013.1 Ferchichi quickly became a key member of the KUIN fighters based on Mount Chaâmbi.2
The Tunisian authorities issued a warrant for Ferchichi in November 2014.3 In March 2015, the government put him on its list of most wanted terrorists.4 Ferchichi continued to rise through the ranks and was believed to have become one of the KUIN’s senior leaders by late 2015.5 In early November 2015, rival militants within the group shot and killed him.6
