Overview of incidents

  1. Oct. 01 – Gunmen opened fire at a border security post near Hidra, in the Kasserine governorate. Nobody was hurt in the shooting. [Mos]
  2. Oct. 03 – A police post was set on fire by assailants in the town of Gaâfour, in the Siliana governorate. Criminal elements were suspected in the incident. [Bab & TAP]
  3. Oct. 05 – Unidentified assailants set fire to an office of the communist PT party in Dahmani, in the Kef governorate. [Bab & Mos]
  4. Oct. 12 – A group of terrorists clashed with Tunisian troops during a brief shootout in the city of Kasserine. No one was hurt in the clash. [Bab & TAP]
  5. Oct. 15 – A policeman was assaulted and wounded by thugs angry over recent arrest of street hawkers by security forces in Enfidha, in the Sousse governorate. [Mos]

  8. Oct. 22 – A gunman opened fire at a police patrol in Oued Meliz, in the Jendouba governorate. One police officer was injured in the attack. [Mos]
  9. Oct. 23 – Six soldiers were killed and four colleagues were wounded when a group of militants ambushed a Tunisian army unit as it was conducting operations in Sidi Ali Ben Aoun, in the Sidi Bouzid governorate. One of the terrorists was also killed in the incident. [AFP, Bab, Mos & TAP]
  10. Oct. 23 – An officer was killed and one colleague was injured when terrorists fired at policemen as they sat in a parked patrol vehicle in the town of Menzel Bourguiba, in the Bizerte governorate. [AFP, Bab, Mos & TAP]
  11. Oct. 24 – Thugs set fire to an office of the ruling Islamist Ennahda party during protests of opposition supporters in the town of Kef. [AFP, Bab, Mos & TAP]
  12. Oct. 24 – A group of thugs raided an office of the ruling Islamist Ennahda party in the town of Béjà, assaulting and injuring five activists. The office was subsequently burnt by the attackers. [Mos]
  13. Oct. 25 – Militants battled policemen during a brief firefight after the officers tried to stop the terrorists’ vehicle in the Ennasr suburb of Tunis. There were no reports of casualties among the police. [AFP, Bab & TAP]

  15. Oct. 30 – A suicide bomber blew himself up on a beach while being chased by the security guards of a hotel in the city of Sousse. The ARM was blamed for the incident. [AP, Bab & TAP]
  16. Nov. 11 – Two policemen were injured in a gun battle between a group of militants and Tunisian security forces conducting operations in the Nagga area of the Kébili governorate. One of the terrorists was eliminated in the encounter. [AFP, AP & Mos]

  18. Nov. 18 – Two Sufi Muslim mausoleums were ransacked by a band of Islamist thugs in Douara, in the Gafsa governorate. [Bab & TAP]
