The Abu Bakr as-Sadik Brigade [KABE; Katibet Abou Bakr Esseddik] was a small Salafi Muslim jihadi entity that was briefly active in 2014. It was made up of former followers of the Partisans of Shari’a in Tunisia [AST; Ansar Achariâa].1 The KABE was based in the city of Gafsa and likely had about two dozen members.2 Soon after its formation, it reportedly began plotting simultaneous bomb attacks against government institutions.3

The Tunisian security forces arrested fourteen key members of the outfit in June 2014.4 Some of the captured militants were released shortly afterwards.5 The KABE was effectively rolled up with the capture of these militants.
