Meftah Manita (°ca 1976) was a Tunisian terrorist from the town of Ben Guerdane, in the Médenine governorate. For most of his life, he was involved in illicit trade between Libya and Tunisia.1 In 2008, Tunisian authorities arrested him on charges of involvement in jihadi activities.2 Manita was send to prison by a court, but appealed his conviction and was released shortly afterwards.3

Following the 2011 Tunisian Revolution, Manita became a key member of the Libya-based Islamic State’s Sabratha Network [DaISN].4 He set up and directed several sleeper cells in Ben Guerdane.5 Manita reportedly helped plan and lead the Mar. 07, 2016 attack on the town.6 He was killed in a shootout with security forces during the incident.7
