Mohammed Khiari (°1984) is a jihadi from Ben Arous and an operative of the Partisans of Shari’a in Tunisia [AST; Ansar Achariaâ]. He joined the organization’s shadowy military wing in January 2012.1 Khiari was tasked with collecting intelligence on journalists and politicians.2 In that capacity, he was reportedly linked to the 2013 assassinations of left-wing politicians Chokri Belaïd and Mohammed Brahmi.3 Khiari was also involved in procuring weapons for the AST.4 Security forces apprehended him during a raid on his hideout in the Sidi Hassine Sejoumi suburb of Tunis on Sep. 09, 2013.5
