Mourad Ghozlani (º1992) was a senior operative of the Soldiers of the Caliphate in Tunisia [JaKI; Jund al-Khilafa fi-Ifriqiya] based on Mount Mghila.1 He reportedly joined the outfit in 2016 and became its most important bomb maker.2 Ghozlani gained notoriety when he organized the killing of his cousin who served in the army in November 2016.3 Ghozlani was also linked to the June 2017 killing of a shepherd and the 2018 bombing of a gas pipeline.4

On Oct. 21, 2018, Tunisian security forces eliminated Ghozlani during an operation near Sbiba, in the Kasserine governorate.5 He wore an explosives belt at the time of his death, but was killed before he could blow himself up.6 Subsequent investigations revealed that Ghozlani was plotting attacks against government institutions and diplomatic missions in Tunis.7
