Mohammed Dhibi (°1981) is a senior operative of the Brigade of Uqba Bin Nafa’a [KUIN; Katibet Uqba Ibn Nafaâ]. He is deeply involved in the planning and execution of attacks against security forces in the mountain ranges of Tunisia’s Kasserine governorate.1 Before becoming an insurgent, Dhibi worked as a day laborer.2

Dhibi was wrongly reported to have been killed in the March 2015 operation in which the army eliminated KUIN top leader Khaled Chaieb.3 In early February 2016, the Tunisian government issued an alert for him.4 Dhibi narrowly avoided capture or elimination twice in the following days. He first escaped clashes between KUIN fighters and Tunisian security forces in the Matmata area of the Gabès governorate.5 A few days later, Dhibi again made an escape when paramilitary forces raided the village of Koutine, in the Médenine governorate, in a failed bid to apprehend him.6
