Overview of incidents

  1. Jun. 01 – A paramilitary soldier was killed in gun battles with a band of RKK fighters during operations by Thai security forces in the Chanae district of the Narathiwat province. Four of the militants were eliminated in the fighting. [BP & Nat]
  2. Jun. 01 – Gunmen shot and killed a local election candidate as he was leaving a funeral in the Lamae district of the Chumphon province. The victim’s wife was wounded in the shooting. [BP]

  11. Jun. 09 – A bomb fitted to a motorcycle exploded as two vehicles carrying soldiers passed by on a highway in Pattani‘s Nongchik district. Two soldiers and five civilians were wounded in the attack. [BP]

  19. Jun. 21 – A gunman shot and wounded a deputy village leader shortly after he left his home on a motorcycle in the Muang district of the Pattani province. [BP]

  21. Jun. 26 – Motorcycle-borne militants hurled a hand grenade at a security checkpoint in the Bannang Sata district of the Yala province. No casualties were reported in the incident. [BP]
