  14. Aug. 17 – A bomb exploded at a crowded Hindu religious shrine in the Pathumwan suburb of Bangkok. Twenty people, including six Chinese nationals, five Malaysians, a British citizen, an Indonesian and a Singaporean woman, were killed in the attack. At least 123 other persons sustained injuries in the blast. The wounded included 22 Chinese nationals, six Taiwanese citizens, three Malaysians, three Singaporeans, an Indonesian, a Japanese visitor, a woman from the Philippines and a Qatari national.
