The Drops of November [SN; Stagónes Noémvri] was a short-lived Thessaloniki-based anarchist outfit that was behind the firebombing of a police station in the city’s Sykeon neighborhood on Nov. 17, 2020.1 Almost a week later, the group asserted responsibility for the action in a communiqué posted on a left-wing extremist website.2 The SN claimed that it attacked the facility to protest the ban on traditional left-wing marches to commemorate the anniversary of the November 1973 Athens student uprising due to the coronavirus pandemic. The group praised activists who nevertheless were held rallies and denounced the authorities for having arrested six of them. The SN stated that it considered its operation to be a “social duty” in the face of the “daily humiliation and torture” of leftists and “killings of immigrants” by the Greek state.
