The PAD’s Core of Rebellious Violence [PAD-PEV; PAD – Pyrínas Exegertikís Vías] was a short-lived Athens-based affiliate of the Direct Action Cells [PAD; Pyrínes Ámesis Drásis]. It was behind the Jun. 30, 2021 incendiary bomb attack that damaged the gate outside the house of political analyst and journalist Giannis Pretenteris in the Greek capital city’s Neo Psychiko suburb.¹ On Jul. 27, 2021, the PAD-PEV asserted responsibility for the incident in a statement posted on an anarchist website. The militants denounced Pretenteris as a “loyal attack dog” and propagandist for the state and the elite which has ruled Greece with “arrogance and impunity” for many years.
