The PAD’s Core of Revolutionary Solidarity [PAD-PEA; PAD – Pyrínas Epanastatikís Allilengýis] was an affiliate of the Direct Action Cells [PAD; Pyrínes Ámesis Drásis]. In early 2021, it carried out a series of attacks in Athens and became the first militant cell to operate under the name of the PAD franchise.

On Jan. 23, 2021, the PAD-PEA was behind an incendiary bomb blast at the premises of an economic think tank in the Koukaki neighborhood of the Greek capital city.1 The next day, it damaged the entrance of a tax office in a similar attack in Kypséli.2 On Jan. 28, the outfit set off another incendiary bomb at the house of a government official in the Ilion suburb.3

The PAD-PEA claimed responsibility for the attacks in a brief statement posted on an anarchist website on Feb. 01, 2021.4 The outfit furthermore reported to have carried out a firebomb attack on a police vehicle in the Petralona neighborhood of Athens that went unreported in the Greek press. In their message, the assailants expressed solidarity with an imprisoned terrorist of the November 17 Revolutionary Organization [17N; Epanastatikí Orgánosi Dekaefta Noémvri] who was on a hunger strike at the time.5
