The PAD’s Nucleus of Anti-Government Rage [PAD-PAO; PAD – Pyrínas Antikratikís Orgís] was a Thessaloniki-based affiliate of the Direct Action Cells [PAD; Pyrínes Ámesis Drásis] franchise. Members of the outfit burnt a North Macedonian diplomatic vehicle in the northern Greek city on Feb. 25, 2021.¹ They also set fire to a car that belonged to the Greek labor ministry on Mar. 03.² The PAD-PAO claimed responsibility for the incidents posted on a left-wing extremist website on Mar. 28, 2021. In its statement, the outfit expressed solidarity with the hunger strike of an imprisoned operative of the November 17 Revolutionary Organization [17N; Epanastatikí Orgánosi Dekaefta Noémvri]. It furthermore denounced the state as an unrepentant enemy that violently represses immigrants and those that do not fit “patriarchal, sexist standards”.
