The Revolutionary Rupture Team [OER; Omáda Epanastatikís Ríxis] was an Athens-based anarchist outfit whose members were behind the Feb. 02, 2021 incendiary bomb attacks against the cars of member of parliament for the conservative ND party Konstantinos Bogdanos and his wife outside their home in the Kifissia suburb.1 The OER asserted responsibility for the action in a lengthy communiqué posted on a left-wing extremist website on Feb. 27.2 The outfit denounced the state’s exploitation of the coronavirus pandemic to benefit the “capitalist system” and restrict the freedoms and rights of the people. It decried political and technocratic fear mongering and false accusations of spreading the virus against the youth. The OER rejected the “dystopian present” of state interference in all aspects of daily life and bans on assembly. Its members advocated resistance against “government oppression” with sabotage and targeted attacks. Bogdanos was targeted as a representative of the government in reciprocation of the “violence unleashed against society and the anarchist movement in particular”.
