The MTA’s Core of Worker Terrorism [MTA-PET; MTA – Pyrínas Ergatikís Tromokratías] was an incarnation of the left-wing extremist Class Solidarity Front [MTA; Métopo Taxikís Allilengýis]. Its members were behind an incendiary bomb attack on a store of the Sklaventis supermarket chain in Thessaloniki on May 07, 2021.1 The device did not detonate, but nevertheless sparked a fire that caused damage. The MTA-PET asserted responsibility for the action in a statement published on an anarchist website ten days later.2 In its message, the attackers denounced the treatment “like garbage and slaves” of retail workers by employers and “irrational consumers” during the coronavirus pandemic. They accused Sklaventis of overworking their staff, allegedly leading to several deaths. The outfit furthermore warned the owners of “employer slaughterhouses” that the “blood and sacrifices” of the workers will not be forgotten and that its “hatred for the bosses” is eternal. The MTA-PET reported having heeded the call for initiating class warfare of the Anarchist Action Organization [ODA; Orgánosi Anarchikí Drási].
