The MTA’s Core of Workers’ Disobedience [MTA-PEA; MTA – Pyrínas Ergatikís Anypakoís] was an incarnation of the Thessaloniki-based Class Solidarity Front [MTA; Métopo Taxikís Allilengýis] that was behind the May 20, 2021 arson attack in which a vehicle of the state social security service was destroyed in the Stavroupoli suburb of the city.1 The outfit asserted responsibility for the action through the account of the MTA on a left-wing extremist website on May 30.2 The attackers denounced the exploitation of the working class by employers and the state. They decried passivity among the people and vowed to stop “tolerating to live like slaves in the Middle Ages”. The MTA-PEA ended its communiqué with a call for unrestrained conflict between workers and bourgeoisie.
