The Nihilist Brigade [MT; Midenistikí Taxiarchía] was a short-lived Athens-based anarchist outfit. On Oct. 12, 2019, its members hurled several homemade firebombs at a police station in the Greek capital city’s Melíssia suburb, damaging a parked police car.¹ Officers intercepted a car that was speeding away from the site of the attack and apprehended four young anarchists.² The MT asserted responsibility for the action in a statement posted on a left-wing extremist website on Nov. 03, 2019.³ In the communiqué, the assailants declared themselves to be at war with the state and threatened to attack it at every opportunity.⁴ They also denied that those arrested by the police on Oct. 12 had anything to do with the action.
