The Minorities for the Diffusion of the Attack [MDE; Meiopsifíes gia ti Diáchysi tis Epíthesis] was a short-lived anarchist militant outfit whose members set fire to a van of the OTE telecommunications firm in the Sykies suburb of Thessaloniki on Apr. 01, 2021.¹ The MDE asserted responsibility for the incident in a statement posted on a left-wing extremist website on May 07.² It reported having carried out the attack to show Greek rulers that the fight was not over despite the coronavirus pandemic lockdown that was in place at the time. The group further threatened the mayor of Sykies and expressed solidarity with imprisoned leftist militants.
