The Anarchist Students [AM; Anarchikoí Mathités] was a left-wing extremist outfit whose members threw homemade incendiary bombs at the prime minister’s residence in Thessaloniki on Mar. 10, 2017.1 The AM asserted responsibility for the incident in a statement posted on an anarchist website several days later.2 In the communiqué, the assailants claimed to have carried out the attack in response to education reforms which they believed was aimed at impoverishing students so that the “exploiters” remain unchallenged.3 On the night of the AM’s action, a police squad was also attacked with firebombs in the city. It is unclear whether the outfit’s operatives were linked to that incident.4
