The AAO’s Core of Solidarity and Revenge [AAO-PAE; AAO – Pyrínas Allilengýis kai Ekdíkisis] was an Athens-based franchise of the Greek Informal Anarchist Federation [AAO; Átypi Anarchikí Omospondía]. It was behind the Apr. 08, 2015 incendiary bomb attack on an office of the socialist SYRIZA party’s youth wing in the capital city’s Kaisariani neighborhood.1 The incident caused only minor damage. The AAO-PAE claimed responsibility in a statement posted on the internet later that day.2 In the message, the outfit described SYRIZA politicians as “cinematic leeches” who are part of the capitalist class despite their “sanctimonious veil of leftism” and propped up by “dormant voters”. The assailants furthermore denounced anarchists who voted for the party in recent elections.3 Although the attack was carried out by left-wing extremists, the SYRIZA nevertheless blamed the action on fascists in communiqué.4
