The Anarchist Resistance Against Decline [AAESP; Anarchikés Antistáseis Enántia stin Parakmí] was a left-wing extremist outfit based in Thessaloniki. It was behind the Oct. 13, 2021 detonation of an incendiary bomb outside an apartment building in the city center that damaged its entrance.1 The AAESP asserted responsibility for the action in a statement posted on an anarchist website three days later. The attackers reported having targeted a drug dealer living in the building. The message was not picked up by the Greek press.

The AAESP declared to be in open war against the drug mafia and stated that revolutionary war should aim to recover moral values. It accused the targeted drug dealer spreading misery among proletarian communities. The outfit also denounced the trial against two anarchists from Athens who had killed an Egyptian drug dealer in 2016. The AAESP acknowledged heeding the call of the Anarchist Action Organization [OAD; Orgánosi Anarchikí Drási] to move away from subversive theory and commit to “practical offensive propaganda”.
