The Group of the Tour sans Venin [GTSV] was a short-lived anarchist outfit from the French department of the Isère. It was one of the entities that disrupted telecommunications in Grenoble with a series of arson attacks on relay stations on the city’s outskirts on May 18, 2020.1 More than 430,000 people were affected by the action. The GTSV was responsible for the firebomb attack on the technical room of a relay unit in Grenoble’s Seyssinet-Pariset suburb.2 On May 29, the outfit claimed responsibility for its part in the operation in a statement distributed on left-wing extremist websites.

The GTSV’s members were thought to have been drawn from Grenoble’s violent anarchist community that has been responsible for a large number of arson attacks in the preceding years.3 They were clearly linked to the people behind the Fire-Transmitting Bats [CTF; Chauves-Souris Transmettant le Feu] with whom they cooperated to carry out the May 18, 2020 attacks.
