Salameh Abu Malhous (°1981) is an Egyptian jihadi from Sawarka Bedouin tribe who serves as one of the most senior leaders of the Islamic State’s Province of Sinai [DaIWS; Dawlat al-Islamiya Wilayat Sina’a].1 He reportedly serves as the chief coordinator of organization’s activities on the Sinai Peninsula.2 In that capacity, Abu Mahlous wields so much power that he is sometimes seen as the de-facto top leader of the DaIWS. Despite his senior position, Abu Mahlous keeps a low profile and very little is known about his activities.
