  1. Oct. 07 – Three soldiers were killed in a series of operations by Egyptian security forces against militants in and around the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. At least 26 terrorists were eliminated during the fighting. [Ahr & Baw]
  2. Oct. 18 – Unidentified assailants fired mortar rounds into Sheikh Zuweid, in the North Sinai governorate. A civilian was killed and another one was wounded when their home was struck by the shelling. [MM]
  3. Oct. 20 – A civilian was shot and injured by unidentified terrorists on the outskirts of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MM]
  4. Oct. 20 – A group of gunmen opened fire at laborers involved in the construction of security checkpoints as they were walking to work in southern Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. Four workers were killed and three others were injured in the incident. The DaIWS asserted responsibility for the incident. [AP & MM]
  5. Oct. 24 – Militants opened fire at Egyptian security forces during a raid on their hideout near Farafra, in the Wadi el-Gadid governorate, sparking a round of gun battles in which eleven of the terrorists were eliminated. [Ahr]
  6. Oct. 25 – A roadside bomb exploded as a vehicle of the state electricity company passed by south of Sheikh Zuweid, in the North Sinai governorate. The driver was hurt in the blast. [MM]
  7. Oct. 25 – Three workers were killed and ten others were wounded when terrorists fired a rocket-propelled grenade at their truck in southern Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. The targeted workers were involved in building military checkpoints. [AP & MM]
  8. Oct. 27 – A police officer was injured in a bomb blast as he was sitting in his car outside a university campus in the Helwan suburb of Qahira. [EI & MY]
  9. Oct. 29 – One soldier was killed in clashes between terrorists and troops during a series of operations by the Egyptian army at different locations in the North Sinai governorate. Eighteen militants were eliminated in the fighting. [Ahr & EI]
  10. Nov. 02 – A group of gunmen opened fire at three minibuses carrying Copts as it was traveling to a monastery near the village of Adwa, in the Minya governorate. Seven Christians were killed and nineteen others were wounded in the incident. [Ahr, DNE, EI & MS]
  11. Nov. 04 – Terrorists opened fire at police forces who raided their hideout in the Minya governorate, setting off gun battles in which nineteen of the militants were eliminated. [Ahr & EI]
  12. Nov. 04 – A police officer was killed in a gun battle between militants and security forces in the Gilbana area of the Ismailiya governorate. [Baw & MY]
  13. Nov. 16 – Five workers of a construction company involved in army projects were kidnapped by militants in the North Sinai governorate. Four of the captives were released shortly afterwards. [MM]
  14. Nov. 23 – A group of thugs set fire to two cars of a local government official in the Wadi Hof suburb of Qahira. [MY]
  15. Nov. 26 – An army informer was abducted and subsequently beheaded by DaIWS militants near Sheikh Zuweid, in the North Sinai governorate. [MM]
  16. Nov. 29 – A local civilian was shot to death by unidentified terrorists in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MY]
  17. Dec. 04 – A soldier and two members of a Bedouin tribal defense militia were killed in fighting with militants in the North Sinai governorate. [MM]
  18. Dec. 05 – Two Bedouin guides were killed and four others were injured when terrorists fired at them during a military operation in the Assiyut governorate. [EI]
  19. Dec. 15 – Three army contractors were snatched from their truck by militants near Hassana, in the North Sinai governorate. Two of the captives were released shortly afterwards. [MM]
  20. Dec. 16 – Two soldiers were killed and three colleagues were wounded when their vehicles were struck by roadside bomb blasts west of Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate. [AFP & MM]

  22. Dec. 28 – Cadres of the DaIWS shot and killed a civilian whom they accused of cooperating with the security forces at his home on the outskirts of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [AVSI]
  23. Dec. 28 – A roadside bomb exploded as a bus carrying tourists passed by in the Haram suburb of Giza, killing three Vietnamese citizens and their local tour guide.
