  16. Jan. 17 – Muslim thugs hurled firebombs at a church and the homes of several Christian families during a rampage against the Coptic community in Kafr el-Dawar, in the Beheira governorate. Five Copts sustained injuries in assaults during the violence. The incident took place after an altercation between a Christian and his Muslim employer. [Esh]
  17. Jan. 18 – Militants abducted a fisherman outside his home in the village of Sukadra, in the North Sinai governorate. The hostage was found shot to death several days later. [Wat]

  32. Feb. 19 – Three soldiers were killed and two colleagues were injured in clashes between bands of militants and security forces conducting operations in the North Sinai governorate. Four terrorists were eliminated in the fighting. [Ahr & MY]
  33. Feb. 22 – Four suicide terrorists attacked an army post and a nearby military checkpoint in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. The assailants were shot dead by soldiers before they could blow themselves up. [Ahr, EI, DNE & MY]
