  26. Dec. 28 – Militants fired a rocket-propelled grenade at a police armored vehicle in the city center of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate, killing one officer and injuring three colleagues.   27. Dec. 28 – One soldier was killed and two colleagues were injured when militants fired mortar rounds into a military base in the Gafgafa area of the North Sinai governorate. [AP & MS]
  28. Dec. 29 – A gunman fired into a church in the Helwan suburb of Qahira, killing a policeman, seven Christians and a bystander. Five security guards were injured in the shooting.
