  1. Sep. 01 – A young man was injured when unidentified gunmen shot him in Sheikh Zuwaid, in the North Sinai governorate. [MY]
  2. Sep. 06 – A school principal was abducted by gunmen from a café in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. The hostage was released more than a week later. [Wat]
  3. Sep. 08 – Militants opened fire at police forces in Sheikh Zuwaid, in the North Sinai governorate, injuring one officer. [Wat]
  4. Sep. 10 – Nine policemen were injured when militants detonated a bomb as security forces raided two apartments in the Agouza neighborhood of Qahira. Ten terrorists were eliminated in the operation. Most of the militants came from North Sinai. [Ahr, Bal, DNE, EI, MY & Reut]
  5. Sep. 10 – A civilian was killed when a mortar round fired by militants hit his home near Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate. [Wat]
  6. Sep. 11 – Militants bombed and subsequently shot up five police armored vehicles west of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. Eighteen policemen were killed and five colleagues were wounded in the incident. The terrorists later fired at an ambulance arriving at the scene, injuring four additional people.   7. Sep. 11 – A soldier was shot and killed by a sniper as he was manning a security checkpoint south of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MY]
  8. Sep. 12 – Unknown gunmen shot and killed a civilian as he was walking on a street in the Safa neighborhood of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MY & Wat]
  9. Sep. 13 – A suicide bomber blew himself up at an army checkpoint on the outskirts of Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate, killing two soldiers. Militants subsequently stormed the position, sparking a shootout in which four of the assailants were eliminated. [Ahr, AP, Bal, DNE, EI & Reut]
  10. Sep. 17 – Militants fired two mortar rounds at security forces in the village of Tayera, in the North Sinai governorate. The shells struck a nearby house, killing a civilian and injuring four others. [Wat]
  11. Sep. 17 – Four pickup trucks and a van were set on fire by a group of militants near Nakhl, in the North Sinai governorate. [Wat]
  12. Sep. 18 – Unidentified gunmen shot and wounded a woman on a street in the Masayid suburb of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [Wat]

  14. Sep. 18 – Unknown militants set fire to a cement mixer truck and three other vehicles at a construction company’s premises in the town of Bir el-Abd, in the North Sinai governorate. [Wat]
  15. Sep. 21 – A roadside bomb exploded as a police armored vehicle in southern Arish, in the North Sinai governorate, killing one officer and injuring a colleague. [Wat]
  16. Sep. 21 – A civilian was killed and another one was injured when gunmen shot them on a street in central Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [Wat]
  17. Sep. 22 – A band of gunmen opened fire at army vehicles south of Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate, killing one soldier. Three of the attackers were eliminated in the ensuing gun battle. [MY & Wat]
  18. Sep. 23 – Suspected DaIWS militants opened fire at policemen in the Masayid suburb of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. No one was hurt in the incident. [MY]
