  1. Apr. 01 – A bomb planted on a motorcycle exploded outside a police training facility in the city of Tanta, in the Gharbiya governorate. Two policemen were killed and twelve colleagues were injured in the blast. Three civilians were also hurt in the incident. The LeT claimed responsibility for the bombing. [Ahr, Bal & DNE]
  2. Apr. 06 – A soldier was killed and two colleagues were injured in gun battles between militants and Egyptian troops conducting operations in the North Sinai governorate. [Bal & MS]
  3. Apr. 07 – Senior HAH commander Mohammed Abdo opened fire at policemen who tried to arrest him in the Sayala area of the Dumyat governorate. The militant was killed in retaliatory gunfire. [Baw, DNE & EI]
  4. Apr. 08 – Militants belonging to the HAH and the LeT opened fire at security forces who raided a farm in which they were holed up in the village of Bostan, in the Beheira governorate. Two terrorists were killed in the ensuing gun battle. [Ahr, Bal & DNE]
  5. Apr. 09 – A suicide bomber exploded at the entrance of a Coptic Orthodox church in the Manshiya suburb of Iskandariya. Eighteen people were killed and at least 48 others were wounded in the blast. Seven police officers were among the dead. [Ahr, Bal, Baw, DNE & EI]
  6. Apr. 09 – A suicide bomber blew himself up during services at a Coptic Orthodox cathedral in the city of Tanta, in the Gharbiya governorate. The blast killed thirty people and wounded at least 71 others. [Ahr, Bal, Baw, DNE & EI]
  7. Apr. 10 – A band of gunmen attacked an army checkpoint south of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate, sparking a shootout in which seven of the assailants were eliminated. [Bal]

  9. Apr. 11 – Unknown gunmen opened fire at a police vehicle in the town of Biyala, in the Kafr el-Sheikh governorate, injuring two officers. [Bal & Baw]
  10. Apr. 13 – A sniper shot and killed a soldier manning a military checkpoint west of Sheikh Zuwaid, in the North Sinai governorate. [MS]
  11. Apr. 14 – A girl was killed and another one was wounded in a bomb explosion in the village of Jafi, in the North Sinai governorate. [Bal]
  12. Apr. 16 – DaIWS fighters fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the headquarters of the Tarabin Bedouin tribe and bombed the house of of prominent tribal leader in the town of Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate. Two trucks were also set on fire by the assailants. The attacks sparked a round of shootouts between the attackers and members of the tribe in which three tribesmen were injured. Three other tribe members were abducted and subsequently killed by the terrorists. [Bal, Baw, EI & MS]
  13. Apr. 18 – One policeman was injured in a gun battle with a militant during a raid on his hideout by security forces in the town of Kafr Sa’ad, in the Dumyat governorate. The terrorist was eliminated in the operation. [Ahr & Bal]
  14. Apr. 18 – Gunmen attacked a security checkpoint near a historical Greek Orthodox Christian monastery in Sant Katrin, in the South Sinai governorate. One policeman was killed and four colleagues were wounded in the incident. The attack was claimed by the DaIWS. [Ahr, Bal, Baw, EI, MS & Reut]
  15. Apr. 20 – A leader of the Fawakhriya Bedouin tribe was abducted by a group of DaIWS militants in the North Sinai governorate. [EI & MS]
  16. Apr. 20 – An officer was killed and a bystander was injured when a police armored vehicle was struck in a roadside bomb explosion in Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [Ahr]
  17. Apr. 22 – A bomb exploded near a military checkpoint near Mahdiya, in the North Sinai governorate. Nobody was hurt in the blast. [MS]
  18. Apr. 26 – A suicide terrorist detonated his explosives-laden car at a roadblock manned by members of the Tarabin Bedouin tribe near Rafah in the North Sinai governorate.   19. Apr. 27 – A bomb exploded near a police station in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate, killing one officer and injuring two colleagues. [Ahr & MS]
  20. Apr. 28 – Four policemen sustained injuries when their armored vehicle was struck in a roadside bomb blast in Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MS]
  21. Apr. 28 – A band of DaIWS gunmen attacked house of a prominent family belonging to the Tarabin Bedouin tribe south of Rafah, in the North Sinai, sparking firefights. No further information was available. [MS]
  22. Apr. 30 – Four officers were wounded in two separate roadside bomb explosions that targeted police armored vehicles in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate. [MS]
