Jul. 05 – Bands of thugs armed with firearms, machetes, knives and sticks attacked local residents who blocked mobs of Muslim Brotherhood supporters from rampaging through Qahira‘s Manial neighborhood. Twelve local civilians were killed and dozens of others were wounded in the attacks. Four of the assailants were killed as locals defended themselves.
