Zeid al-Matakha is a little-known Egyptian jihadi from the Sinai-based Sawarka Bedouin tribe. He serves as a senior commander of the Islamic State’s Province of the Sinai [DaIWS; Dawlat al-Islamiya Wilayat Sina’a].1 In that capacity, Matakha heads a significant section of the group’s fighters in the Sheikh Zuweid area.2
