Youssef Salim was a mid-level operative of the Islamic State’s Province of Sinai [DaIWS; Dawlat al-Islamiya Wilayat Sina’a] who served as a deputy to senior commander Mohammed Ziada.1 In the late 2010s and early 2020s, he reportedly helped to organize and execute attacks against the Egyptian security forces on the Sinai Peninsula.2 Salim was also involved in the organization’s logistical operations. He was eliminated along with Ziada as troops intercepted their vehicle on Apr. 19, 2021.3
