Yusri Muhareb was an operative of the Assembly of Monotheism and Jihad in the Sinai [JTJS; Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad fi-Sina’a] in the early 2000s. He and his brothers served as a liaison between the JTJS and Gaza-based jihadi elements.1 These jihadi operatives reportedly trained Muhareb in explosives handling.2 He was arrested by Egyptian security forces following the 2006 Dahab bombings.
