Nayef al-Deeb (°ca 1977) was one of the most senior members of the Assembly of Monotheism and Jihad in the Sinai [JTJS; Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad fi-Sina’a].1 He was one of the group’s original members and a close friend of its leaders Khalid Masa’ed and Nasser al-Mallahi.2 Deeb allegedly headed the JTJS’ activities in the city of Arish.3 He was primarily focused on advocacy and recruitment.4 Deeb was never captured or killed and his current status and whereabouts are unknown.
