Munir Muhareb was a Bedouin jihadi from the town of Sheikh Zuweid, in the North Sinai governorate. He joined the Assembly of Monotheism and Jihad in the Sinai [JTJS; Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad fi-Sina’a] in the early 2000s.1 Muhareb served as a senior liaison operative to the Gaza-based allied jihadis.2 He was also believed to have been involved with the planning of the July 2005 Sharm el-Sheikh bombings.3 Security forces eliminated him in a gun battle on May 01, 2006.4
