Mohammed Shaheen was a little-known senior commander of the Islamic State’s Province of Sinai [DaIWS; Dawlat al-Islamiya Wilayat Sina’a]. His exact role was never revealed. In September 2018, Egyptian security forces eliminated him during an operation in the city of Arish, in the North Sinai governorate.1
