Mohammed Abu Shita was an influential jihadi from the Sinai and a cousin of the infamous Abu Shita brothers. He became deeply involved in militancy on the peninsula following the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. Abu Shita was especially known for organizing roadside bombings against the security forces.1 He also participated in the August 2013 execution of 25 soldiers near Rafah.2 Security forces eliminated him during a raid on his hideout south of Rafah on Oct. 02, 2014.3
