Radwa Amer (°1976) is a bachelor in literature and an Islamist militant from the Zamalek suburb of Cairo.1 She was a long-time companion of Mohammed Awad, the leader of a tiny Qutbist religious association. Amer is believed to have been the driving force behind the radicalization of her associates.2 By the late 2010s, she, Awad and their companions had become devoted to jihad. Awad set up the Zizo el-Minyawi Module [ZMM]. One of the cell’s operatives blew himself up outside a Coptic church in Mostorod on Aug. 11, 2018.3 Amer was arrested shortly afterwards as the authorities cracked down on the ZMM.4

Following Amer’s arrest, the Egyptian government accused her of maintaining contacts with unidentified jihadis outside of the country.5 She was also said to have arranged financial support for Islamist militants.6
