Ahmed al-Juhaini is a Sinai-based jihadi from the Sawarka Bedouin tribe. He dabbled in sorcery before turning to Islamism.1 Nowadays, Juhaini is one of the most senior leaders of the Islamic State’s Province of Sinai [DaIWS; Dawlat al-Islamiya Wilayat Sina’a]. He serves as the deputy of the organization’s Sinai operations chief Salameh Abu Malhous.2 Juhaini also helps coordinate training of DaIWS fighters and procures weapons and explosives for the group.3 In 2017, he was appointed to lead the military operations of the DaIWS following the death of predecessor Rashid Abu Qassim.4
