Lukáš Borl (ºca 1982) is an anarchist activist and militant from the Czech city of Most. He has a long history of organizing protests and squats. In 2009, Borl was convicted for having illegally occupied a house. He received a suspended prison sentence, but the ruling was later overturned on appeal.1 Borl founded the Ateneo Community Center which catered to the local anarchist community in 2012.2 He later spearheaded a campaign against a restaurant which was locked in a wage dispute with former staff.3

In 2014, Borl reportedly set up the Network of Revolutionary Cells [SRB; Sit’ Revoluĉních Bunĕk].4 Over the next moths, the group carried out arson attacks against police vehicles, highway toll booths and a shop selling CCTV equipment. In April 2015, Borl was arrested by Czech police during raids against the SRB across the country.5 He was later released and went into hiding to continue staging attacks with the SRB.6 Police actively looked out for him, but Borl managed to avoid arrest for months.

On Sep. 05, 2016, police apprehended Borl in his hometown.7 After having spent several months in jail, he was released on bail in April 2017.8 Upon his release, Borl sued the Czech authorities for having refused to acknowledge his vegan diet and providing him with vegetarian food instead.9 In early 2019, a court agreed with Borl that his human rights had not been respected during incarceration.10 He is currently awaiting trial for his role in the SRB.
