The DaIWS released a communiqué in which it claimed responsibility for the following attack:

  • Apr. 18, 2017 – Gunmen attacked a security checkpoint near a historical Greek Orthodox Christian monastery in Sant Katrin, in the South Sinai governorate. One policeman was killed and four colleagues were wounded in the incident. [Ahr, Bal, Baw, EI, MS & Reut]

In a statement distributed on social media and the internet, the DaIWS asserted responsibility for the following incident:

  • Apr. 26, 2017 – A suicide terrorist detonated his explosives-laden car at a roadblock manned by members of the Tarabin Bedouin tribe near Rafah in the North Sinai governorate. Four tribesmen were killed and six others were injured in the attack. [AFP, EI, MS, Reut & Wat]

The DaIWS issued a statement claimed involvement in the following incident:

  • May 03, 2017 – Two tribesmen were injured in gun battles between DaIWS militants and members of a Tarabin Bedouin tribal defense militia in Rafah, in the North Sinai governorate. Eight of the terrorists were eliminated in the fighting. [DNE]

The DaIWS released a statement and distributed pictures claiming responsibility for the following incident:

  • May 14, 2017 – Two soldiers were killed and five colleagues were wounded when militants attacked security forces in Sheikh Zuwaid, in the North Sinai governorate. [Bal]
