Overview of incidents

  1. May 02 – A roadside bomb exploded as an army patrol passed by in the Takbai district of the Narathiwat province. One soldier was killed in the incident. [BP]
  2. May 03 – A bomb exploded at a market in the Kabang district of the Yala province. Another bomb went off shortly afterwards as onlookers had gathered at the scene. Four civilians were hurt in the blast. [BP & Nat]
  3. May 08 – A rubber tapper was shot to death by militants as he was traveling home from work on his motorcycle in the Thanto district of the Yala province. [BP]
  4. May 08 – Terrorists detonated two roadside bombs as a defense volunteers’ unit foot patrol passed by in Yala‘s Yaha district. Four of the volunteers sustained injuries in the attack. [BP & Nat]

  8. May 17 – A soldier was injured when a roadside bomb exploded as a paramilitary foot patrol passed by in the Bannang Sata district of the Yala province. [BP]
  9. May 24 – A deputy village leader was injured when his vehicle was struck in a roadside bomb explosion in the Khokpho district of the Pattani province. [BP]
  10. May 25 – A roadside bomb went off as a group of teachers under escort of a defense militia unit passed by in the the Khokpho district of the Pattani province. Two volunteers sustained injuries in the attack. [Nat]
  11. May 31 – Militants detonated a roadside bomb as paramilitary soldiers traveling on a motorcycle passed by in Narathiwat‘s Rangae district. The attacker subsequently fired at the troops. The two soldiers were killed in the attack. [BP]
