Overview of incidents

  1. Mar. 01 – A female defense volunteer was shot and injured as she was buying rubber in Narathiwat‘s Rueso district. [BP]
  2. Mar. 03 – Gunmen shot and wounded two civilians at a motorcycle repair shop in the Khokpho district of the Pattani province. Militants subsequently detonated two roadside bombs as vehicles carrying policemen rushed to the scene. One police officer and six civilians were wounded in the blasts. [BP & Nat]
  3. Mar. 07 – Militants sprayed gunfire at a residential compound for policemen in the Muang district of the Yala province. No one was injured in the shooting. The incident was attributed to the RKK. [BP]
  4. Mar. 08 – Assailants hurled into the parking lot of a grenade at a courthouse in the city of Bangkok. Nobody was hurt in the incident. [BP]

  7. Mar. 14 – A bomb planted in a trash can went off as monks collecting alms passed by in Pattani‘s Saiburi district. Four police officers and two civilians were wounded in the attack. [Nat]
  8. Mar. 17 – A soldier sustained injuries in a roadside bomb blast that targeted an army patrol in the Saiburi district of the Pattani province. [Nat]
  9. Mar. 21 – A roadside bomb exploded as a police pickup truck passed by in the Johirong district of the Narathiwat province. No one was hurt in the blast. [BP]
  10. Mar. 21 – A civilian was killed and two family members were wounded when militants shot them during a raid on their home in the Thanto district of the Yala province. [BP]
  11. Mar. 28 – Criminal elements fired at a police chief in front of a shop in the Chauat district of the Nakhon Si Thammarat province, killing two associates. The policeman and three other acquaintances were wounded in the attack. The incident was in retaliation of the local authorities’ crackdown on drugs. [BP]
  12. Mar. 29 – Two policemen were shot to death by members of a local criminal group after having lured them to a field in the Manang district of the Satun province. The assailants avenged a crackdown on drugs. [BP]
